Cold showers, intermittent fasting, morning sun, blue light blocking glasses. . . spend any time on any social platform and you’ll find almost everyone is a ‘health expert’ these days, information is everywhere.
Almost 10 years ago, I started working in the functional medicine world. Back then it wasn’t popular and barely anyone knew about gut health, genes, or glyphosate. Fast forward to today and mold toxicity, MTHFR genes, and anti-inflammatory diets are common knowledge.
A lot of you probably found me through my writings about health, but I haven’t written much about it lately because I really don’t like to talk about what everyone else is talking about. Maybe that’s why the idea of searching for ‘trending’ posts and making my own version just to get discovered makes my skin crawl.
Anyway.
I’m here to bring you interesting ideas that are starting to form in the field of health + mental health that I think are going to become popular soon, just like functional medicine is now.

Structured Water
99% OF YOUR MOLECULES ARE WATER
Your body is 70% water in mass, but 99% in molecules.
Nearly everything that happens in your body is affected by water in an immense way.
This is why the quality of the water you drink has an extraordinarily powerful influence on your overall health and well-being.
I think at this point most people are aware of the importance of clean water and either use a high-quality filter or drink spring water with added minerals and electrolytes. (if you don’t yet, I’d start with that)
But if you want to take it to the next level, structure your water and use it medicinally.
Structured water is essentially water that has been altered to form a hexagonal structure, allowing it to hold more energy, improve hydration, and be less prone to pollution.
The research around energy, brain health, microbiome, and well-being that has been done on this topic is impressive, and from the brilliant alternative doctors I work with, I am starting to believe that coherent, structured, ordered water is the foundation for all health.
Structured water has many benefits, including age rejuvenation, improved immune system, improved brain health, clearer skin, reduced wrinkles, increased energy levels, and better physical fitness.

Caffeine Resets and Alternatives
Who doesn’t love a good cup of caffeine? If you don’t, that’s amazing! Really. But for the rest of us, it can be hard to give up.
The good news is there are many substances these days to clear brain fog, increase focus, and improve energy without stimulants.
The trick to caffeine is taking a break from it for 3-7 days every 30-40 days. This acts as a reset for your receptors so you actually feel the caffeine again instead of drinking more and more of it to feel the same effect.
My two favorite alternatives during caffeine breaks are:
Methylene blue: A powerful purifying antioxidant that directly improves cellular and mitochondrial function. Dropping this in ketones (I like ketone-IQ) is straight brain fuel. (you can read about it here)
Paraxanthine is a revolutionary new energy source that is isolated and refined from the caffeine compound. Basically, it gives you the feeling of caffeine, without caffeine. These drinks are the only clean source I have found.
Natural Birth Control
Great news! If you are a woman that doesn’t want to take birth control or get an IUD or if you are a man that doesn’t want to get a vasectomy or use condoms all of the time, I’m happy to tell you there is a way to make everyone happy. . . (and child-free)
New technology is making preventing pregnancy naturally without the use of hormones or surgery way easier than it was even a few years ago.
My favorite way to do this is use using the Natural Cycles app and the Oura Ring.
Natural Cycles is the only FDA-cleared birth control app.
The Oura Ring measures your body temp through the night (among other things) which is how you can detect ovulation.
You don’t need an Oura Ring, but it does make it 10x easier if you have one because you don’t manually have to take your temperature every morning (like I did for years).
These two apps synch together giving you your fertility status for the day.
Natural Cycles will give you a red light or green light. Green light = you can’t get pregnant and don’t need protection. Red light = you could get pregnant, so use protection.
You really only need to use protection for about a week out of the entire month to prevent pregnancy, and for the rest of the month, you don’t need to worry about it 🙌
Mind Over Body
Functional and alternative medicine are great, but they can get too focused on the body when in reality, the body is only 25% of what you need to look at when dealing with any symptom. I’ve seen people get so caught up in testing, supplements, and strict diets that they don’t explore the other 75% of ways to heal.
25% cellular health: food, movement, sleep, detox, lifestyle
25% mental and emotional health: beliefs, trapped emotions, habitual thoughts leading to habitual emotions leading to the shut down of the repair and rejuvenation mechanisms in the body, perspective, focus
25% Spiritual health: connection with God, feeding your Spirit (most are starving), clearing generational sin, unforgiveness, bitterness, worship etc.
25% purpose and relationships: community, connection, passion
This is the template I use when addressing any health concern. I could write an entire piece on how I do this, but for today, I think what’s going to become popular is exploring each one of these areas when addressing a health concern, because we are realizing that you can heal the body through healing other areas of your life.
This is a very important shift of consciousness because now the preoccupation is not with the body and defending it. The focus of attention now shifts to the mind and Spirit, which is where the greater power lies. As we shift our thoughts, feelings, and perceptions, we begin to notice that the body follows suit.

Intentionally using your mind to heal your body. This study shows how you can control your autonomic and innate immune response, which was thought to be impossible. Huge potential for autoimmune conditions here.
How to train your body to stay in a healing state even when stress comes through things like my breath, shake, retake, generate technique
Clearing trauma and trapped emotions from the body through modalities like EMDR, emotion code, or somatic experiencing
